In accordance with the BattG, we are obliged to inform our customers about the regulations and obligations for the disposal and return of used batteries and rechargeable batteries.
1. According to §11 BattG, end consumers are obliged to return used batteries and rechargeable batteries.
2. Contaminated batteries and rechargeable batteries are marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol, under which the chemical symbol of the heavy metal contained is shown
(Cd for cadmium, Hg for mercury and Pb for lead).
3. Batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with household waste, but can be returned free of charge to our office or to the designated collection and return points. Our take-back obligation is limited to waste batteries of the type that we carry as new batteries in our range, as well as to the quantity that is usually disposed of by end consumers.
Information according to the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG)
According to the Act on the Placing on the Market, Return and Environmentally Sound Disposal of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (ElektroG), we are obliged to inform private households:
1. Manufacturers of electrical and electronic equipment must mark their products placed on the market after November 23, 2005 with a symbol (crossed-out wheeled bin) and take them back free of charge. Such old appliances must not be disposed of with household waste, but must be separated, collected and disposed of via suitable collection and return systems.
2. Private households must dispose of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) that they no longer wish to use in an environmentally friendly manner. In this case, they must dispose of WEEE separately from unsorted municipal waste. They must also separate old batteries and accumulators from the WEEE, unless they are enclosed within it and the WEEE has not been separated for the purpose of preparing for re-use in accordance with § 14 para. 1 no. 1 letter 5 p. 2 and 3 ElektroG.
3. Distributors with a sales, storage and shipping area for electrical and electronic equipment of at least 400 m² are obliged to:

2. take back old appliances which are not larger than 25 cm in any external dimension, up to a maximum of 5 old appliances per appliance type, either in the retail store or in the immediate vicinity, free of charge, whereby the return is not linked to the purchase of an electrical or electronic appliance.
